Apprenticeship Carolina



What's New

Among the initial strategic priorities identified by Apprenticeship Carolina™ is a focus on building the capacity of the System’s 16 colleges to support employers’ needs within registered apprenticeship programs. To further this goal, up to $15,000 in grant funding was made available to each of the colleges to support curriculum development as a component of new registered apprenticeship programs. The following awards have been made:

  • Aiken Technical College for support of registered apprenticeship programs for Chemical Operators and
    Multi-Skilled Industrial Maintenance Repairers;

  • Central Carolina Technical College for support of a registered apprenticeship program for Machine Operators;

  • Denmark Technical College for support of registered apprenticeship programs in Multi-Skilled Industrial Maintenance Repairers

  • Greenville Technical College for support of registered apprenticeship programs for Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics;

  • Horry-Georgetown Technical College for registered apprenticeship programs in HVAC;

  • Midlands Technical College for registered apprenticeship programs for Boiler  Operators;

  • Northeastern Technical College for registered apprenticeship programs in Electro-Mechanical Maintenance;

  • Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College for registered apprenticeships for Industrial Truck Mechanics;

  • Spartanburg Community College for a registered apprenticeship program for Pipe Fitters;

  • Trident Technical College for a registered apprenticeship for Production Technologists (Molders); and,

  • York Technical College for registered apprenticeship programs for Chemical Operators.

All colleges have an opportunity to apply for additional funding through a competitive grant process to be completed later this Spring.
